Appomattox River & Heritage Trail
The Friends of the Lower Appomattox River (FOLAR) have developed a series of Blueways (navigable water) and Greenways (hiking trails) that reveal the beauty of the Appomattox River.

The Five Forks Unit of Petersburg National Battlefield now has approximately eight miles of trails open to the public. These trails can be used for hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding.
