    Join A. Wilson Greene and local historians as we examine the various efforts to capture the Confederate capital. Highlights include visits to the Seven Days Battlefields, North Anna, Haw’s Shop, Totopotomoy Creek, and Cold Harbor. We will also explore the Confederate defenses north of the James and at Drewry’s Bluff. Also on the agenda are visits to the White House of the Confederacy, Tredegar Iron Works, and Belle Isle Prison.

  5. NPS Re-Dedication Ceremony for Poplar Grove National Cemetery

    After an 18-month period of major rehabilitation, the National Park Service will be holding a re-dedication ceremony for Poplar Grove National Cemetery on Saturday, April 29th starting at 12:30pm. Ceremony Information & Speakers -Keynote Speaker: Ms. Sara Amy Leach, Senior Historian, National Cemetery Administration, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs -NPS Park Superintendent & Facility Manager -Dinwiddie High School JROTC Color Guard -Ft. Lee Army Band Brass Quintet -Descendants of soldiers buried at the cemetery Parking & Shuttle Information There will be NO PARKING at the cemetery the day of. Free shuttles will run to and from Richard Bland College beginning at 11:00am. Guests should plan to arrive early because when the ceremony begins at 12:30pm, NO SHUTTLES will be running for about an hour until the ceremony is over. After the ceremony shuttles will run until 3:30pm.
